Colorado Trails Days 25-27

Day 25 took us from Silverton to Cascade Creek Trail, the alternate route we chose to connect back to the Colorado Trail, to avoid being more exposed with potentially stormy weather. We camped just beyond Blackhawk Pass that night.

Day 25 Stats: 18.1 miles; 4,112 ft. elevation gain, -1,697 ft. elevation loss

Day 26 took us from our campsite below Blackhawk Pass to a less than ideal spot about 15 miles from the southern terminus. It was a frightening day of storms!

Day 26 Stats: 30.7 miles; 3,260 ft. elevation gain, -5,625 ft. elevation loss

Day 27 took us 15 miles into Durango to finish the Colorado Trail! We only ascended 1,243 feet and descended nearly 3,136!

Carly (Taproot)’s excellent write up on The Trek about her Colorado Trail thru hike is well worth a read. You can find it here.

Here’s my storybook vlog for days 25-27
