Fun with Family, Part II

Slowly but surely, I want to blog about all the excitement leading up to Jones’ arrival!  People are so excited about Jones and our trip to meet him, and one of the crews we had to meet with after returning from our trip was L’s brother and his family.  Orange (yep, code name), their daughter, was adopted from Ethiopia almost two years ago and their story was another big part of our adoption journey.  When you watch someone else go through the process and see that it’s not so scary but is an amazing way to grow your family, well, it’s just inspiring!

We had a great day visiting with them. Our kids all play so well together and I’m always thrilled when Buddy and Lou get to hang out with their out-of-town cousins. As the day wore on and the kids started getting bored, we decided to bust out the slip ‘n slide and we even went so far as to join the two that we had together to make one loooooong slide! L decided it wasn’t fast enough so out came the dish soap and that livened things up a bit!  I’m so bummed that I was cooking dinner and couldn’t take more pictures when L and his brother J decided it was time for them to see who could slide the furthest past the bottom of the hill (J won, by the way)!

Enjoy the photos of the kids reveling in summer fun!

Anyone notice how my children are the only ones not cooperating for the photo?

It started out with just a hose in the driveway and quickly progressed to the slip ‘n slide!

Splash!

They were a little tentative at first when there were 2 slides waiting on them, especially knowing how slick they were!

Poor Orange had to borrow Lou’s saggy bathing suit–no worries though because you can’t take the cute out of this kid!

Seriously, can he get any cuter?
