What’s the Difference between V and V2?
Both pads are made from polyester, but the Static V is made entirely of a stronger 75D polyester. The Static V2 only has 75D polyester on the bottom, where a more puncture resistant material counts the most. On top, they reduce weight by using 30D polyester.
So like most gear, the lighter you go, the more expensive it gets. If you’re worried about spending a night on the hard ground because you didn’t get the version made of all 75D, I’d opt for the Static V and carry the extra 2 ounces (and buy yourself some fun trail food with the money you saved!).
The Klymit X Inflatable Pillow is $17.49 today only at Amazon. This is a 42% reduction in price, and both green and a nice teal color are available at this price. For less than 2 ounces, it’s worth carrying if you like the luxury item of a pillow in your tent (I certainly do!).
