This well-rated tent is never gonna land in the ultralight category, but if you’re just getting started with backpacking and have someone to share the weight load with on a trip, this is a great buy to get you going.
Some features of the tent that I like include:
- Two doors and two vestibules (this makes going to the bathroom at night so much easier if you have your own designated door to crawl out!
- Fly / footprint minimalist pitch option lets you leave the tent at home and use the fly, poles and footprint (sold separately) as a lightweight shelter.
- The fly’s 4 ceiling vents provide airflow to prevent condensation buildup
- Pockets and hang loops help organize the interior
